Spa pools come in two varieties, inground and aboveground, both of which serve the same purpose but each carries a rather unique feature that becomes apparent in the installation process.

For the most part, inground spa pools are designed not only to provide a relaxing spa to the users thereof, they also make swimming possible even if such pools only occupy a small space in the backyard. The convenience that the spa pool provides, not to mention the privacy and other customizable features, make them as an utmost selection by people with good taste for fitness, health, and luxury.

Also known as a swimming treadmill, the inground type of spa pools can be installed in the backyard without compromising the aesthetic beauty of the landscape. They even serve as a decor as its integration in the backyard may incorporate decorative tiles or fences and stone works for the ground.

However, what matters most is the purpose that such pools serve. They are highly recommended for people -- athletic or not -- who are in need of hydrotherapy, which they can engage in right at the comfort of their own homes. Their surf jets make swimming exercises possible. Moreover, since they are inground, the equipment such as the pump, the heater, and the water-filter are all set up "out of sight". The smooth, finished appearance of the spa pool simply makes it more appealing than the usual pool. However, such features come with a price since compared to the portable type, which can be carried or re-installed from any point in the backyard, the inground variety is unquestionably costly in almost all aspects of owning and maintaining a spa pool.
